This may be my favorite C.S. Lewis book. My dad read it aloud to our family when I was in high school, and then I read it for my C.S. Lewis class in college. It is a fictional story told by a man who is in hell but gets to visit heaven. Lewis’s view of heaven and hell is very unique and really gave me a lot to think about. Lewis would argue that people are sent to hell because that is what they choose, and, in Lewis’s book, many of the people in hell don’t really realize that that is where they are, but they are certainly unhappy and are determined to make others unhappy too. On the other hand, heaven is a wonderful place designed for people who have chosen God.
