I'm here via the Hidden Treasures nominations. This is an excellent post. I wonder how many people thinking about the accountability of their vote and the fact that not voting is casting a vote in a way.

Hubs always says, if you didn't vote, don't complain about the way things are! We don't take the privilege of voting lightly, I'm glad to see others who feel the same way. :)

I appreciated your article honey. I remember when you were little and I would take you in the voting booth and let you help me vote. Sometimes we even took you out of school to go vote! I wanted you to understand how important this freedom and responsibility was. Now you'll be taking little Caleb. Before long he'll be old enough to pull the lever. Well I guess that just told my age! No more levers.
I know just what you mean about being a mom making you more convicted and aware of the state of our world. When you were born I think I questioned everything I believed all over again. It was so important to me to be sure I passed only the truth on to you. I love you honey and I'm proud of who you are. You're a great mom!

I have believed for many years that the arrival of a little baby can either change the minds and hearts of its parents or deepen their convictions and sense of responsibility. Thanks for confirming this belief. I appreciate your sincere thoughts on the moral duty of the Christian to vote.
