Last night I was catching up on your site and read this. Tonight I went to the NWA Children's Shelter where I volunteer every two weeks. I personally worked with 13 kids tonight and I didn't go to one of the wings. The last child I worked with was a less than 3 week old baby and his only home has been the shelter, his less than 2 year old brother was with him as well. The shelter can house up to 30 kids when they have the resources. This organization is very near and dear to me since I see first hand the kids that are being helped. Their website is www.nwacs.org and would welcome any donations! When you hold the little babies and know they don't get to go home or rock a toddler that just wants to understand what is going on it is very touching. But they are safe, fed and clean it's been quite rewarding. There are some great needs and many children going through there every year that need help.

Thanks for that post. I ended up looking up our charities and decided to switch from another world poverty charity to Compassion! They had a better rating and I like that they are a Christian organization. We are now sponsoring a girl in Africa.

There is no greater joy than giving. We collect too much stuff that will just be land fill some day. Whatever you give is a blessing that lasts forever. We are sponsoring a 10 year old little boy in India whose name is Chitti. He can quote the books of the Bible forward and backward in Tellagoo (probably spelled wrong). I hope to meet him someday. We are so blessed and it is usually because someone has been generous to us. God is the greatest giver and we are most like Him when we give.
