Our son, Caleb, was born this morning at 3:43 AM. He weighed 7lbs. 13oz.,was 20 1/2 inches long, and is extremely healthy (and cute!). I’m so proud of Mary Beth for all of her hard work and determination last night. She pushed for about two hours and then the doctor determined that he would have to come out via a c-section. She’s resting now and will hopefully be able to come home sometime this weekend.

I’m just a proud papa and I hope everyone will continue to pray for Mary Beth’s speedy recovery and for Caleb as he continues to grow up. I’m going to get some rest and then go back to the hospital. I hope to hear from everyone soon!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! What a beautiful baby! This sure brings back memories. What a fun life ahead of you. Enjoy these quiet fun times while he is still trying to figure out where he is.

Casey, when we get ready to buy Brandon a computer I hear you are the one that knows how to get bargins. We are checking into some places to maybe get him a Mac. What are your thoughts on how and what to get in that area?

CONGRATULATIONS! :-D It’s incredible how close you can feel to people online… I remember meeting back when it was just the two of you, before Mary Beth even found out she was expecting. It’s so wonderful to watch the journey, and to see your new family forming.

I hope both the new parents get the rest they need. Treasure these next weeks and months– no matter how tiring and difficult they can be, you never have them again. And give Caleb a kiss for us! (I love the name, by the way– one of my favorites.)

Congratulations! We can’t wait to get to know Caleb. I know that he’ll be the source of pride and good times for many years to come. May God bless you and Mary Beth as you bring Caleb up in the Lord. We love you all. Morris and Brenda

Everyone – thanks for all of the encouraging notes! Caleb & Mom are doing well and we’re so happy to have another member of our family!

Tammy – I would recommend that Brandon get a Mac Mini. They’re relatively inexpensive, but he will need to already have a keyboard, monitor, and mouse. Hopefully that will work out for him…

    Casey,

Happy belated Congratulations! Welcome to a wonderful journey known as ‘fatherhood’. You have entered into an advanced layer of realization into God’s Love for us. The mystery’s of God are so tangible in the analogies of everyday life with our children – especially newborns. It sounds like you are already soaking it in.

    Casey and Mary Beth:

Caleb is adorable, I am proud for both of you — as well as grandparents, great-grandparents and extended family. Next time I visit Kevin at Harding, I will have to make arrangements to hold him — I will probably enjoy that about as much as I did holding you and playing with you when you were about 2. Casey, you were a very positive influence in Kevin’s life when you “baby-sat” for him. I am sure you will also “be there” for Caleb. And remember — it is OK if you fall asleep while watching him!

With all the attention to your Blog, how about an updated picture of Carter (it could inclued Cory and Brad too).

I am glad that Cory’s “ultimatum” struck a responsive cord with your Dad — it saves me from having to “preach” to the preacher!

    Blessings,
    Denny Parish
