Big News . . .

Posted by Mary Beth on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

We’ve been waiting for weeks to share our big news, and the time has finally come. After tons of prayer and thought, and sharing and praying with the people closest to us, we have decided to adopt a baby boy from Ethiopia.
Ever since I went with my parents to adopt my little [...]

Caleb the Worship Leader

Posted by Mary Beth on Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Caleb is crazy about all kinds of music, he loves to play his guitar and drum. If there were a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game for toddlers, he would be a pro. But his favorite music is worship music. He runs around the house singing worship songs all day, and he [...]

Our Family Mission

Posted by Casey on Thursday, July 20th, 2006

Mary Beth and I sat down last night to design our Family Mission Statement together. It took us a while to come up with an idea, but Mary Beth was the one who decided to use verbs to define how we wanted our family to be. We both sat at the computer for [...]

Doesn’t she look beautiful?!?

I can’t believe we only have a couple more months left until Caleb is born. Mary Beth is doing very well. Her energy level is low, but that’s to be expected when carrying a watermelon around all day!!

It’s hard to know if we’ll be ready to be parents, but we keep praying that God will give us the wisdom we need to be good parents for Caleb. One thing I’ve done to get ready is to start a journal for him. I hope it will be something that he can look back on when he’s older and see the times when I was really proud of him, and when I was frustrated with him. I think it will be a good tool for him to have as he thinks about being a father someday in the future.

Now, onto other baby news: We are about 99.5% completed with his room, but we just have a few more finishing touches to add before he gets here. We are going to paint a bible verse on the wall and we’re still trying to figure out which one. Here’s our favorite so far:

I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart…      Jeremiah 1:5

If anyone has any other verses to recommend, just let me know in the comments. I’ll be posting a video and photos of the new baby room in the coming weeks…

Crunch time cuz’. That’s awesome. God has blessed both of you with Godly examples of parents, so you’ve learned from some good teachers. Just put your faith in God, and the life he has blessed you with and He will take care of Caleb. I can’t tell you how inadequate I feel as a parent, but it amazing to watch God work in Kennedy. We will be praying for ya’ll, and we hope to see you at Spring Sing.

    Casey,

Yes, she is beautiful, but so are you! You will be an awesome father because you are an awesome son and husband. Just always pray for God’s help, He will be with you, and so will we!

    Your proud mom
