    Giving Thanks

Author: Casey | Posted in: Home Life & Family, Spiritual

Thanksgiving Dinner Table We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! My wife’s family and I all decided to head up to their cabin to celebrate and give thanks. There was tons of food, family, and fun.

While we were there, we decided it would be fun to read through “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” again so we would have the story fresh in our minds before the movie comes out in a few weeks. It was great to just sit by the fire and listen to a wonderful story told by a wonderful author.

We also did a little bit of eating while we were there. My mother-in-law and my wife made an amazing Thanksgiving feast that was enjoyed by all! I probably ate too much, but hopefully I can run enough this week to cancel it out. :)

On Friday all of the girls went shopping and the guys went golfing. We had a great time golfing, but it was so cold that we had to quit a little bit earlier than planned.

Overall it was a great weekend. Mary Beth and I even found time to go pick out our Christmas tree and put up our Christmas lights.

I’m so thankful for all of the great things in my life: my wife, my future child, my family, my church, my friends…the list could go on and on. Thank you God for all that you do for me…

    Boy or Girl?

Author: Casey | Posted in: Home Life & Family

That’s what everyone keeps asking us and we still don’t know yet. The good news is that we will find out on December 6th, but for now we can only guess. My wife has a feeling that it’s a girl, but I couldn’t tell you either way. Some people say that if the heartbeat is above a certain number then that means it’s a girl, but of course that’s just an old wives’ tale. (Who are these old wives that just sit around making up stuff anyways?)

At this point we don’t really have a preference, but in the end we just want to know to that it’s a healthy baby. I think it would be really fun to have either a boy or a girl. Let’s hash out the advantages of each:

    Boy:

    • Wrestling partner
    • Carry on the family name
    • Future golfing buddy
    • Don’t have to pay for the wedding :)
    • Father/son camping trips

    Girl:

    • Much cuter
    • Daddy’s little girl (Need I say more?)
    • Father/daughter dates
    • Someone to play “dress up” with

I guess we’ll all find out on December 6th

    History on Display

Author: Casey | Posted in: Random Thoughts

On Sunday afternoon, my brother-in-law, father-in-law, and I went to see the historic B-17 and B-24 bombers on display at the Hot Springs Memorial Airport. It was amazing to see these massive machines as they would have looked sixty years ago.

We even listened to a WWII veteran from Sardis, AR tell his amazing story. We was a gunner on one of the B-24s and his plane was shot down over Brussels, Belgium. He lived secretly with a family in Belgium for seven months before finally coming home. The Air Force had no knowledge of him being alive, so they told his family that he was presumed dead. It was amazing to hear this story and to see some of the photos he had in his album. It really made me proud of all of our soldiers that have ever served and are currently serving.

I have two family members that are currently serving our country over in Iraq. If you’d like to send a note to one of them to show your appreciation for their service in Iraq, use one of the links below:
