Last night we decided to break the silence and announce the big news…we’re going to be parents! We had our first doctor’s appointment yesterday and the baby looks healthy. The doctor gave us a due date of April 24th, three days after my birthday. Needless to say, we’re pretty excited. We called friends and family last night and everyone was so surprised and excited.
Mary Beth seems to be doing very well so far. It’s really been amazing to watch her continue to teach while she’s been sick. I’m so proud of her! Please keep us and the baby in your prayers and thoughts…

I’m not biased…but that is one fine looking grandbaby! We are so excited to have #2 on the way. I know that you will be wonderful parents. God bless you in this wonderful time of bringing new life into the world.

That is my baby. I want it it as soon as ya’ll have it. If it is a boy, I want to name him Homer and if a girl, I want to name her Annie Maude. This will be my baby first , then Cindy’s baby - Mary Beth, you will have to have another one. Pap is as excited as I am, but he doesn’t like the names. We are immediately going to get a crib to put at the foot of our bed and please let me know the date he/she will be arriving.
I can’t believe I am going to be a Great Nana. Please be careful with he/she as I can hardly wait! Be assured that you two and our first great grandchild are in our prayers constantly.

I was talking to Bruce today and he asked me if “I’d heard”. His found out from Abbie. I’m flying to town next Sunday. Mary Beth, if you’d like, I could bring you some of those nice “bags” from the seat pockets of the plane
Congrats! Kids are wonderful! (Even teenagers … I know … I’ve had at least one in my house for the last 17 years!)

Congrats brother! After all my questioning of “When” you finally helped make it happen
Now for the “Rest of the story” (only told after the plunge, much like marriage) - this will indeed be a changing of seasons in yours and Mary Beth’s life. A good season, sometimes difficult, but well worth the Journey. Enjoy the miracle of life!
