    My Wife: The Teacher

Author: Casey | Posted in: Home Life & Family

This news is kind of late, but I just couldn’t help bragging on my wife anyways…

A couple of weeks ago (Aug. 11) Mary Beth was hired as the new High School English teacher for a private Christian high school in our area. We were both so excited at the news, but she was somewhat stressed given the fact that school started in less than a week.

Since then, she has done an amazing job in every way! She is currently teaching five high school classes: one 9th grade class, two 10th grade Pre-AP classes, and two 11th grade classes. It has been quite an adjustment for both of us since she has started this new job, but I think it has been a very positive thing overall. I’m extremely proud of all of the hard work she is doing and I know that she will have a very profound impact on all of her students…

My 15 minutes of web fame

Author: Casey | Posted in: Free Stuff

As most of my friends and family know, I received a free Apple Mac Mini several months ago. Well, I sent in my photo to the company I got it from and they recently posted it on the front page of their website. Crazy stuff…

By the way, I’m still trying to get that free iPod Shuffle so, help me out! I only need one more person to sign up and complete an offer…

    Instant Messaging: The Google Way

Author: Casey | Posted in: Tech

Google TalkWell, Google has done it again. They have introduced a new Instant Messaging program called Google Talk. I’ve installed it and messed around with it a bit and it seems to be like other instant messaging programs, but the interface is a little cleaner. Just like most other Google ventures, this one seems to have a very nice, clean interface that’s not cluttered up with any junk.

I really feel that Google is on its way to becoming the next Microsoft of the tech-world. They are really innovating on the web, while most other companies just seem to copy everything they do. Currently, Google’s stock price is at $281.99 per share and most people would claim that it’s over-valued. I don’t claim to be an expert at evaluating investments, but I really feel like Google has no where to go but up. If they keep innovating and pushing technology to the limits, then I think we’ll see them around for a long time to come…

    Carter’s First Visit

Author: Casey | Posted in: Home Life & Family

My nephew came to see us this weekend, along with my mom and sister. We had so much fun with them! We would all just sit around while Carter & Boo would play together. It was so cute to see Carter laughing when Boo would jump up and lick his face. There’s really nothing cuter in this world than puppies and babies, but when you put them together it becomes an extravaganza of cuteness! :)

We didn’t really do much besides shopping and hanging out, but it was great to see some family. Anyone else have cute baby pictures out there? Post a comment if you do…

    Summer Vacation

Author: Casey | Posted in: Home Life & Family, Travel

Mary Beth and I on the beachWe got back home on Sunday from our summer vacation to Hilton Head Island, SC. It was so much fun! There was much time spent on the beach skimboarding and swimming. All of us guys even got a chance to go golfing a couple times during the week.

One of the courses we got to play at was Indigo Run. It is a very nice course, but one of the coolest things about this course was the fact that they had GPS-enabled course maps in every golf cart. This allowed us to see exactly how far away we were from the green at any given time. Being the techno-geek that I am, I was pretty fascinated by the whole thing.

Before this vacation, I had never been to the beach on the Atlantic coast. We normally travel down to Florida for the summer, but since the hurricane came earlier this summer we decided to mix it up a little bit. I was very impressed by the South Carolina beaches. They were very pretty and not very crowded. One of my favorite moments of the past week was going to the beach at night with Mary Beth and looking at the stars. We even got to see a shooting star!! We all had a wonderful time and hope to go back soon one day…

    My Wife: The Master

Author: Casey | Posted in: Home Life & Family

My Wife and I at HardingOn Saturday, several of my relatives and I headed up to Searcy, AR to witness my wife’s graduation. She recently completed her Master’s Degree in English with a 4.0! I’m really proud of the hard work and effort she has put in over the past year and it was great to see all of that pay off.

Immediately after the graduation ceremony, my wife’s family and I took off for Hilton Head Island, SC. As a matter of fact, that’s where I’m blogging from now! So, be on the lookout for vacation pictures next week…
